He has been arrested in a murder case ,
Haji Selim's eldest son and former member of parliament of Dhaka-7 Solaiman Mohammad Selim has been arrested by the police.
OC Rezaul Hossain of Chawkbazar police station informed about his arrest from Gulshan area of Dhaka on Wednesday late night.
He said, The accused in a murder case under investigation at my police station is Solaiman Salim. He has been arrested in that case,
Sheikh Hasina left the country on August 5 in the face of the mass movement and went to India. Two days after the formation of the interim government, Awami League ministers-state ministers and top-level leaders and influential parliamentarians are being arrested one by one. Among them, the police arrested Solaiman Salim, the former member of Parliament of Dhaka.
Solaiman Salim was elected as a member of Parliament by voting on the Awami League ticket in the 12th National Parliament election.
After the fall of the Awami League-led government, Sulaiman s father Haji Salim, was arrested in a murder case at Lalbagh Police Station last September,
In the 2014 general election, Haji Salim became an independent candidate for Dhaka-7 constituency without getting Awami League ticket. After becoming MP after defeating candidate Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, he formed a coalition with 16 independent members of parliament.
In the 2018 11th National Parliament election, Haji Salim became MP once again nominated by Awami League. If Haji Salim was not a candidate in the 12th National Parliament election held in January this year, his eldest son Solaiman took the seat.
Haji Salim was first elected Member of Parliament from Dhaka-8 Constituency in 1996. In 2001, he participated in the election as a candidate of Awami League but lost to BNP's Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu,
